Position Overview
The Youth Wellbeing Connector plays a pivotal role within the Family Care Service team, focusing on children and young people at risk of, or already involved with, the youth justice system. This position aims to provide inclusive assessments and build capacity for vulnerable youth, ensuring their educational and developmental needs are met.
By fostering connections between families and support services, the Youth Wellbeing Connector will enhance the wellbeing of young individuals, guiding them towards positive educational and lifestyle choices.

- Conduct thorough assessments of children and young people's needs and engage in case planning.
- Collaborate with educational and health professionals to advocate for the needs of vulnerable families.

Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a passionate individual who is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and families. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Certificate III in Youth Work or equivalent.
- Current Blue Card.
- Current QLD Driver's License.
- Experience working with vulnerable families, including those facing domestic violence and mental health challenges.
- Strong understanding of child and youth developmental milestones.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children, families, and community stakeholders.

Selection Criteria
SC 1 Ability to maintain positive, effective working relationships with colleagues, peers, and relevant stakeholders in a wide range of government, business and community organisations.
SC 2 Demonstrated case management or youth work experience with an understanding of child and youth issues and family and community-based programs and interventions which enhance the health, education and wellbeing of children and their families.
SC 3 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to demonstrate experience in liaising with ATSI young people, families and community.
SC 4 Demonstrated experience in child and youth development and engagement strategies to achieve service delivery outcomes.
SC 5 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) to work in a multi-disciplinary team structure, including the ability to organize and coordinate group activities.
SC 6 Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the appropriate legislation, case management practice, and the ability to adhere to policy and procedures.
SC 7 Demonstrated ability to work positively as part of a small team with minimal supervision and in an environment requiring flexibility, time management including planning and organisational skills.
