Your Role as an Early Childhood Worker

In this exciting position, you will work closely with the Center Coordinator and your colleagues to design and deliver engaging, culturally appropriate programs that cater to the unique needs of children in Chillagoe and Dimbulah. Your expertise will shine as you promote play-based learning and support families to actively participate in their children's development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating safe, stimulating, and flexible child-centered programs that foster individual strengths and interests.
  • Collaborating with professionals and community members to enhance service delivery and support for children and families.
  • Conducting child development screenings and contributing to personalized intervention plans.
  • Modeling play-based activities and encouraging community involvement in child development.

Your Ideal Profile

We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate candidates who are passionate about early childhood development and have a strong understanding of the unique challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. If you are a team player with excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!

  • Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education, OR experience with a willingness to undertake study towards qualifications.
  • Proven experience in early childhood support programs and community development within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development theories and practices.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with diverse stakeholders and a passion for collaborative teamwork.
