Mulungu is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service dedicated to delivering comprehensive health and wellbeing services to the Mareeba region and its surrounding districts. Our mission is to provide culturally relevant and high-quality care that meets the needs of the community, ensuring that all services are integrated and responsive.
Our organization operates across three core service tiers: Health Services, Social Services, and Corporate Services. Position Overview
The General Manager Health Services will play a pivotal role in assisting the CEO to deliver high-quality, culturally appropriate health services. This position is responsible for aligning strategic health initiatives with the overall business objectives of Mulungu, ensuring the achievement of performance targets while maintaining compliance and governance standards.
As a leader within the Executive Team, the General Manager will oversee multiple work areas, including client care, leadership, quality systems, stakeholder engagement, and resource management. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a cohesive workforce dedicated to meeting the health needs of our community.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in health services management, particularly within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts. You will have demonstrated experience in leading large teams, ensuring quality service delivery, and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in senior leadership roles within healthcare, preferably in ATSI primary health.
- Strong understanding of social determinants of health and the ability to implement systems-based approaches to improve health outcomes.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a commitment to fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and evaluate health programs for improving population and indigenous health within a Comprehensive Primary Health Care framework.
- Current Drivers Licence, Working with Children (Blue Card) and current Federal Police Check (within the last six months)
Your experience in quality improvement, compliance, and resource management will be essential in driving the success of health services across Mareeba, Atherton, and Kuranda. You will be expected to uphold the highest professional standards while engaging in ongoing professional development for yourself and your team.
